Osteoarthritis:
Wear and tear can cause the degeneration of the cartilage and bones of joints, called “osteoarthritis,” often resulting in friction between adjacent vertebrae. This friction causes a loss of motion in the gliding joints of the spine and, if it continues, can result in severe lower back pain and/or leg pain.
Patients suffering from osteoarthritis can see Dr. Michael McGivney for spinal adjustments, physical therapy and stretching exercises that can help keep your spine flexible and less vulnerable to injury. While chiropractic care cannot cure osteoarthritis, it can improve your quality of life while living with the disease.
